Phoenix Airport or Sky Harbour International Airport is called “America’s friendliest airport” in Arizona’s “Valley of the Sun”, Phoenix. The Airport offers 18 commercial airlines, more than 30 commuter carriers and three cargo carriers. It was the home hub of America West Airlines before that passenger carrier merged with Southwest Airlines and US Airways.

There are several areas around Phoenix, and all are miles from the others. Mesa, Tempe and Chandler are South. Sun City is West. Deer Valley, Carefree and Cave Creek are to the North. Scottsdale, Fountainhead and Paradise Valley are to the East.
Phoenix is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the world. It is a vast cultural area as well. At the center of the culture is the Heard Museum which houses 32,000 of fine art. Those artifacts include the Barry Goldwater collection of Kachina Dolls.

Other area attractions include the Desert Botanical Garden at Papago Park exhibits one of the largest collections of desert plants anywhere. Another fantastic display of desert plants can be found at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. It features over 3,200 different species of plants. The Phoenix Zoo offers many species of the animal kingdom for visitors to see up close. Another must see for plant life is South Mountain Park and Preserve. It is the largest municipal park in America and comprises 16,000 acres. And, if you appreciate architecture, you should visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin West complex which is at the base of the McDowell Mountains.
